The Role

We are recruiting an experienced and passionate Data Consultant with SAS project experience. Responsibilities will include conducting full data management project lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, estimation, developing ETL, delivering analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The successful candidate will have 7 plus years of working in the data and analytics world, including leading teams and presenting business outcomes to key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with client and partner teams to provide timely, professional, and quality delivery outputs on assigned projects, leveraging expertise in the application of specific SAS technologies, solutions, methodologies, and project experiences.
• Develop and implement data management systems and other strategies that optimize data quality with a key focus on best practice ETL processes.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Understand, utilise and communicate best practice methodologies and industry standards internally and externally.
• Contribute to detailed technical documentation as required, such as requirements, design, administration, and user guides.
• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Participate in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings.
• Work and collaborate with others on consulting projects and special projects as assigned.
• Conduct customer sessions for requirements gathering, data discovery, analysis, reporting and presentation.
• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Lead knowledge transfer sessions internal and/or with customers.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with internal/external customers.

Qualifications/Experience

• 7 plus years proven SAS experience.
• Knowledge of data management and visualisation tools.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, segmentation techniques and SAS programming.
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
• Experience of designing/developing data ingestion processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of different delivery methodologies and their strengths and weaknesses.

• Familiarisation with data and analytics projects to include, e.g., python, R, IBM Watson, tableau, Power BI and other industry standard technologies.
• Familiar with the concept behind the use of DevOps tools such as Git/Azure DevOps/Jenkins/Docker/Kubernetes.
• Familiar with the concepts of working with Cloud Service Providers (Azure/AWS/GCP).
